Micromax A116 Canvas HD


The Micromax A110 Canvas 2 is the most popular phone in Micromax and it just got a successor. Meet the Micromax A116 Canvas HD a dual-SIM Android phone with a 5 Inches 720p IPS screen and quad-core processor. The 5 Inches screen is a marked improvement over the Micromax A110 the new model has 294ppi pixel density, up from 196ppi. The chipset is a big step forward too, the MediaTek MT6589 packs a quad-core Cortex-A7 CPU at 1.2GHz, 1GB of RAM and the PowerVR Series 5XT GPU. The Micromax A116 Canvas HD runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, packs an 8MP main camera and 2 MP front-facing camera and has 4GB of built-in storage (plus a microSD card slot). Connectivity is handled by 3G GSM, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth and GPS. The battery capacity is 2000mAh.

Recently, Micromax has launched its budget smartphone A116 Canvas HD , which is the successor of company's popular budget phablet- A110 Canvas 2. The phone is equipped with various smart features like latest Android OS, HD screen, quad-core chip, fast processor, twice efficient on-board RAM, etc. to aggrandize your smartphone experience. With this phone, Micromax has stretched the limit of budgeted smartphones. Design and Build-quality
On its first impression, Micromax A116 Canvas HD looks like the enlarged version of Samsung Galaxy Nexus. Unlike Canvas 2, it is more compact and has genuine design with no marvels. The front portion is black in colour, while the clean, glossy back panel is white in colour with stronger and sturdier build. The back panel gives a pleasing look to the overall design of the phone. The HD display in the front with glass housing makes the phone look lot more than what it is worth for. Covering the maximum front portion, the screen gets smudged easily, even without our hands being clammy. The bezel is much thinner than the predecessor Canvas 2. Below the screen, there are 3 capacitive navigation buttons, while the earpiece, notification light, and the front facing camera are located above the screen.

Coming on to the rear part, the 8MP camera lens obtrudes out a bit, similar to that of HTC One X. Adjacent to the lens, there are LED flash and a secondary microphone. Speaker grill is provided at the bottom, while the battery compartment is hidden. At the right side of A116 Canvas HD, you will find a Power/screen lock key, which is little recessed and at times gets a bit hard to press. Volume rocker key provide at the left side and is easy to press. Overall, the design of the phone is not very alluring and is little bulky.
Display
